BigCommerce and the Shopify Agentic plan

What a BigCommerce store would need before using Shopify's Agentic plan as a route into AI shopping channels.

Shopify stores can be syndicated to several AI shopping channels when Catalog rules are met. A BigCommerce store is not in that catalog until someone sends the products somewhere else. One published route is Shopify's Agentic plan, which is aimed at stores that are not already on Shopify.

What you can check before you apply

The public product page needs a stable URL, a title, at least one image, and a price above zero. Variant options should be real records, not words buried in the title. Brand and a manufacturer identifier help, when you have them.

Refund, privacy, and terms pages should be linked from the footer. ChatGPT's Shopify documentation treats those policies as part of eligibility. Eligibility is still not a promise of display.

How BigCommerce data usually maps

BigCommerce product URLs, names, descriptions, images, and prices can fill a feed. SKUs should stay stable across exports. If the storefront is mostly rendered by JavaScript, put the title and price in the server HTML as well. An agent that does not run your theme will miss a price that appears only after hydration.

A feed is still useful if you do not join

The Agentic plan is one route. A ChatGPT product feed, Google Merchant Center, or Stripe's catalog are others. The same cleanup serves all of them: one id per variant, absolute image URLs, a currency, and an availability value you can defend.

Keep the claim narrow

Joining a plan, uploading a feed, or passing a CartReady check does not place products in an answer. Shopify, OpenAI, Google, and Stripe each decide what to show, and the rules change. Re-read the current Agentic plan page before you create an account. CartReady does not submit the application.
